Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA:
Apparently Esquire called it "perhaps the best IPA in America." I would look at the other half of the glass and say perhaps not. Too fruity, and not nearly as delicious as the 60-minute version. And to add expense to inadequacy, it was far more expensive. I've had much worse, but I've had much better. [My wife deemed it "not too bad," but wouldn't call it good either.]

Apparently there's a 120 minute version that's only available on reserve.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, the less hoppy the better. My own beer barely has any, although I just started a stout that really grew into an adult after the (surprisingly amount of) hopping.
I've only sampled the IPAs on tap at Dogfish itself -- are they much more expensive when served bottled elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteAt the grocery store where I was shopping, a 4-pack of the 90-minute IPA was $10; a 6-pack of the 60-minute IPA was $8-9.
